We can see how communication is critical for effective learning. We therefore make communication the central component of Networked Learning.
However communication is not just communication. Appropriate communication is dependent on being:

in the right environment
effectively facilitated
explicitly or tacitly agreed objectives and process
Electronically supported communication is no different. We therefore build or deploy different communication tools or environments to suit the desired objectives.
To build these tools we mostly use Lotus groupware technologies, since these provide the most comprehensive and versatile tools for delivering communication-centred applications.
